The person i am comparing to, their dancer is Sarah Mearns. This is the link they used for their representation(what we comparing to): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPJHNgUlv50
this was their discussion post:
I chose this video because my dancer, Sarah Mearns not only does a beautiful job dancing the adagios in Symphony in C (choreographed by George Balanchine), throughout the video she describes the feelings she has during the dance with her partner and it makes it that much more impactful. What stuck out to most is when she said “…sometimes I attain it, and other times maybe not. But I always try, every time I go out there.” Sarah Mearns is one of today’s most internationally celebrated dancers in classical ballet. She is a principal dancer with New York City Ballet, Sarah has performed featured roles in beloved ballets such as Symphony in C, Jewels, Serenade, Mozartiana, and Walpurgisnacht Ballet. Sarah is 36 years old, she was born in Columbia, South Carolina and started dancing when she was only 3 years old with Ann Brodie at the Calvert-Brodie School of Dance. Sarah is the recipient of a 2018 Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer, following a Bessie nomination in 2014. Sarah has a power and command that few share; in modern works, she is more contained, but still glitteringly present. The only thing that seems to scare her is the possibility of not trying hard enough.
