Student-led discussions give you an opportunity to find a piece of news, analyze it, and present it to the class. Each discussion should last up to 5 minutes. The goal of this discussion is to show us how you can apply your PR learnings to pieces of news. Just like I show you various articles and other news during our lectures and discuss how the article is a “PR piece” – this is what I’m looking for. My goal is to help you distinguish how companies, brands, organizations “get press.”
**This is similar to the news assignment you worked on last week, except you are finding a piece of news from a magazine, newspaper, TV segment or other reputable online news source.

**Here’s an example of the type of article AND support (press release) that I’m looking for including how you can discuss it during your presentation:

For this specific article, think about discussing the partnership and how it could positively (or negatively) promote the brands involved and the overall point of such a partnership, etc. This is clearly a PR piece that discusses the details of the partnership and is promoting the brands at the same time.
