Core values are the fundamental beliefs that guide our lives. These values influence our thought processes, our decision making, and our overall sense of what is right and what is wrong. Core values influence and shape every aspect of how we live and how we interact with others and the world around us. Just as core values guide the lives of individuals, core values also drive organizations and systems. For example, our educational system is driven by certain values. Each profession has a set of fundamental values. All nations possess a set of ideals or beliefs by which they abide. During this course, we will explore core values and how they play out in our individual lives and in larger society.
This week you will work on identifying, clarifying, and writing about your core values. In addition, you will practice identifying main ideas and supporting details. You will also work on capitalization and use of apostrophes, along with basic sentence, paragraph, and essay structure.
